US Technology Expands its Commitment to CIOs through New IT Advisory Board and Sponsorship
of CIO Executive Summits
|

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – March 30, 2007 – US Technology, a leading provider of IT services
and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions for Global 2000 enterprises, today
announced an expanded commitment to Chief Information Officers. With the purpose
of helping CIOs increase the business value contributed by Information Technology,
US Technology will expand access to CIOs and IT thought leaders through its IT Advisory
Board and also sponsor four CIO Executive Summits in 2007.
How do CIOs Gain Recognition for the Value They Contribute?
When it comes to demonstrating and measuring the business value that IT creates,
most CIOs are looking for a means to improve the measurement and communication of
value. Traditional financial reporting plays an important part, but does not convey
the functioning value of IT assets to a business, nor has it succeeded in capturing
the value of the intellectual and human capital of the IT organization.
"When you think about the money invested in IT by most major corporations, it is
startling to realize that we do not have an effective, standard method to compare
the value of the IT assets, nor capabilities, between two separate enterprises,"
said Bob Dutile, General Manager of Strategy and Solutions at US Technology. "We
believe that it will be through discussion, exploration and thought sharing among
CIOs that the means to measure and report the business value created by IT will
be established. US Technology is committed to helping CIOs create forums in which
to advance their learning and subsequently increase the business value they create."
US Technology has developed CIO-focused services, methods and best practices through
its Centers of Excellence to address CIO needs and help them increase the business
value they contribute. A few examples of the company’s recent support for CIOs include:
 |
In 2006, US Technology hosted its first 'CIO Forum', with a dozen Fortune 500 CIO
clients and non-clients, to allow them to network and share best practices. Representative
companies included Safeway, Hanesbrands, Princess Cruises and Broadcom, just to
name several. |
 |
US Technology is involved in a number of CIO events that allow CIOs to network,
share best practices and learn about methods and services used by peers. The company
is the CIO Best Practice Host for four 2007 'CIO Executive Summits' in Los Angeles,
New York, Ohio and San Francisco. |
 |
In 2007, US Technology launched its IT Executive Board. The board is comprised of
current and former IT executives—primarily CIOs—who provide IT strategy and direction
for the company. Members of the board include Stephen Brown, former global CIO of
Carlson Companies Inc.; Fred Magner, former CIO of Unocal; Ron Parmelee, former
IT executive of Safeway; and Wolfgang Strigel, former CEO of QA Labs. |
