US Technology is Profiled in Independent Research Firm Report on Midtier Providers

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - September 10, 2007 - – US Technology, a leading provider of
IT services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions for Global 2000 enterprises,
announced today that Forrester Research, Inc. included US Technology in their outsourcing
report "Not The Usual Suspects: Cost, Quality, And Client Service Benefits From
Midtier Providers" published on July 10, 2007. US Technology is one of the three
midtier global providers profiled in this report.
The report states "the top Indian providers have grown dramatically almost since
their inception." On the downside, "with that growth comes some degradation in the
service that clients are used to receiving from their Indian partners." The service
issues are manifesting in several ways: costs are going up, providers are more rigid,
clients do not have the degree of influence they used to have, and client service
shortfalls. Midtier global providers are seen as an alternative to the big Indian
vendors because they "provide high quality, low cost IT services as well as the
flexibility and client service many Indian provider clients grew to expect and now
sometimes miss."
"Several years ago resentment was mounting against the Big 5 firms. The pricing,
delivery and service (or lack thereof) irked many of the enterprise customers of
the Big 5. That frustration has now spread to the big offshore outsourcers," said
Mike Zerkel, vice president, new and emerging accounts. "US Technology founded its
operations eight years ago and has been winning business against the big outsourcers
(onshore and offshore) ever since. Working with several dozen Fortune 500 companies,
we have proven that Tier 2 providers offer a remedy to the faltering client service
of some of India’s top outsourcers. Forrester is one of the analyst firms that dominate
the research on global outsourcing. Their view aligns well with our experience."
Forrester described a few areas that distinguish US Technology including its "Client
University" program. The Client University helps "ramp up provider staff for new
projects. By day one of the engagement, the entire team is 75% conversant with the
needs and domain, and by the 60 to 90 day mark, the entire team is 100% conversant
with the client's applications, technology, and processes."
Also noted was the investment US Technology makes in its people and its "Quality
versus quantity" client focus. According to Forrester, "In terms of client relationship
management, US Technology's motto seems to be 'fewer clients, more attention.' The
company maintains a small but impressive client base, with approximately 40 'tier
one’ clients. The goal is to eventually grow the business between 90 and 100 accounts,
maintaining focus on strategic, long-term, accounts."
